Founded by farmers, for their children

In December 1986, the sugarcane growers of Tehsil Puranpur voted at a general assembly of their cane cooperative to fund a degree college from their own harvest earnings, fifty paisa at a time. What began as a community fund became a permanently affiliated degree college within twenty years.
